Announcing the David Cornfield Melanoma Fund Doctoral Research Fellowship

In 2019, Professor Satchi-Fainaro and her team at Tel Aviv University developed a nano-vaccine that successfully prevented and treated melanoma in mice. Published in the prestigious journal Nature Nanotechnology, this research is the first of its kind and holds immense promise. The nano-vaccine approach could not only revolutionize the prevention and treatment of melanoma, but also serve as a foundation for the development of nano-vaccines for other cancers.

In early 2020, we launched the Melanoma Nano-Vaccine Campaign in partnership with Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University. The purpose of the campaign was to support the acceleration of Dr. Satchi-Fainaro’s pioneering melanoma nano-vaccine research. Thanks to your support, the Melanoma Nano-Vaccine Campaign raised over $28,000.

We are delighted to announce that your generosity has enabled us to create The David Cornfield Melanoma Fund Doctoral Research Fellowship. This fellowship will support a doctoral fellow for one year in the lab of Prof. Satchi-Fainaro, chair of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology and head of the Laboratory for Cancer Research and Nanomedicine at TAU’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine.

We thank our generous donors and Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University for helping us support this ground-breaking research.
