#BESUNSAFE

Since 2017 we have partnered with the City of Toronto and the Douglas Wright Foundation to deliver the #BeSunSafe sunscreen program.

The purpose of the #BeSunSafe program is to reduce Canadians’ skin cancer risk by 1) providing free sunscreen through dispensers and 2) raising awareness of the importance of sun protection.

In the summer of 2018, the #BeSunSafe program protected up to 94,000 people in 50 waterfront park locations and raised significant skin cancer prevention awareness.  The 2018 #BeSunSafe program won the Canadian Dermatology Association Public Education Award.

During the summer of 2019, the #BeSunSafe sunscreen program expanded to 75 Toronto parks. The program returned to  waterfront parks across Toronto and was introduced at High Park, Riverdale Farm and Evergreen Brick Works. We were proud to help more Torontonians be sun safe!
