#BeSunSafe is an award-winning skin cancer prevention program aiming to reduce Canadians’ risk of skin cancer. In partnership with the City of Toronto and the Douglas Wright Foundation, we are proud to provide sunscreen, shade and awareness in Toronto.
Since our first season in 2017, BeSunSafe has advanced sun safety and skin cancer prevention across Toronto:
- Provided 2.1 million sunscreen applications across Toronto’s waterfront parks, High Park, City golf courses, and day camps
- Offered shade protection for City of Toronto campers through 150 BeSunSafe tents
- Supported city-wide awareness through transit shelter advertising, posters, media coverage, and social media campaigns
- Recognized with the Canadian Dermatology Association’s Public Education Award in 2019 and 2020
