More from Meghan

I’m 27 years old and I grew up in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. I work as Director of Marketing and Communications for a private high school.

My Experience With Melanoma

My first experience with melanoma was when I was diagnosed! The first year after my diagnosis was extremely difficult both physically and emotionally. Seven years later I think I’ve changed a negative experience into a positive one by starting Surviving Skin and helping to spread awareness about this deadly disease.

Since the Diagnosis

I learned that I can overcome ANYTHING! My family is my life and without them I would not have made it through my diagnosis.

Advice I’d Give

Stop thinking it’s “JUST skin cancer.” It’s a very serious disease that can spread quickly if you don’t pay attention. Know your skin and be your own health advocate!

My Thanks

Thank you to my family for sticking with me and continuing to be so supportive. And a big thank you to all the college and high school campuses out there that have brought skin cancer awareness to their schools. Keep up the good work!
