What if the beach held a message you couldn’t ignore?
The David Cornfield Melanoma Fund’s Live Longer campaign transforms one of Canada’s favourite summer destinations into a powerful reminder that melanoma can be deadly, but it is also one of the most preventable cancers.
Colourful beach towels are paired with rows of tombstones, creating a striking visual representation of the lives melanoma will claim over the next two weeks. Every day, 3–4 Canadians die from melanoma, yet up to 95% of melanoma cases are linked to harmful UV exposure.
The campaign reminds Canadians that UV damage accumulates over a lifetime, and even a few serious sunburns can significantly increase the risk of melanoma. Sun safety is an everyday habit, whether you’re at the beach, walking the dog, gardening, exercising outdoors, or enjoying time on a patio.
Through this powerful public installation, DCMF encourages Canadians to take simple steps that can save lives.
