Our Sun Smart Kids program promotes sun safety to children, parents and teachers. In partnership with The Learning Partnership, Sun Smart Kids provides sun hats and information for pre-kindergarten children and their families participating in the ‘Welcome to Kindergarten’ program in Ontario.

Since launching in 2015, Sun Smart Kids has reached 40,000 children:

2015 – DCMF launches Sun Smart Kids in the Toronto District School Board reaching over 8,000 children.

2016 – DCMF and the Douglas Wright Foundation return to the Toronto District School Board reaching 10,000 students. DCMF also expands Sun Smart Kids to North Bay reaching over 1,750 children via a network of local partners including school boards, First Nations communities, Child Care Centres, Health Units, Nipissing University and Canadore Early Childhood Education Program, the Multicultural Centre, LIPI, Nipissing/Canadore Aboriginal Learning Units. Indian Friendship Centre and the Métis Nation of Ontario.

2017 –  DCMF and the Douglas Wright Foundation reach 10,000+ students in the Toronto District School Board, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the Durham District School Board and our partners in North Bay.

2018 – DCMF empowers 5,000 students in the Toronto District School Board and our partners in the North Bay area.

2019 – DCMF protects 5,000 students in the Toronto District School Board, North Bay District School Board, North Bay Catholic District School Board, Waterloo Region District School Board, Halton District School Board, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and First Nations communities.
